No further action for builder accused of making threats over unpaid debt
A builder who was arrested on suspicion of making threats to cause criminal damage over an unpaid debt will face no further action.
Our client is a builder who built an extension property to the value of several thousand pounds. Following a dispute over the unpaid debt, his customers made an allegation to the police that he threatened to destroy the extension he had built unless the debt was paid.
The client was arrested and taken into police custody. Once there, he requested Bhatia Best to represent him. He was represented by Colin Wilson of our Nottingham office. Colin is a fully accredited police station representative and has represented over a thousand clients accused of all manner of criminal offences.
Colin advised and represented the client throughout his time in police custody and ensured he was released shortly after the interview.
Following the decision by the police to drop the case, the client said “Thanks for all your help, I really appreciate it. If I ever need a solicitor again, I won’t hesitate to call you”.
Our lawyers are on call 24/7 to provide advice and representation at the police station. Legal Aid is available to anyone detained by the police. If you are arrested by the police or asked to attend an interview as a volunteer, always contact Bhatia Best.
